Seizures and discoveries include in Dubai the confiscation of more than 4,000 fake Casio watches... In the UK, two separate seizures of counterfeit cigarettes have taken place yielding 3.5 million and 92,000 units respectively... There have been a number of operations by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement across the US, seizing a huge number of counterfeit products. Part of these raids included the seizure of $4.3 million worth of fake designer clothes in Houston and $1 million worth of counterfeit handbags in New York... In India, a large amount of fake Johnson & Johnson surgical equipment has been impounded by police.

Cases and outcomes include in the US, the Business Software Alliance winning a $540,000 judgement against a business that was allegedly producing and selling counterfeit software... Seven people in the UK have been found guilty of taking part in a multi-million pound global fake golf club fraud; the auction site eBay regarded it as the largest counterfeiting scheme it had come across... In China, six traders who exported fake anti-malaria drugs to Nigeria under the "Made in India" label have been sentenced to death... A man in the UK has been ordered to pay back £3.3 million he made from selling fake goods or he will be jailed for ten years.

Studies and reports out include one from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, which found that 54 Nigeria infants and toddlers died as a result of ingesting diethylene glycol contained in an acetaminophen-based teething medication.
